Alex's works are inspired by and taken from the land surrounding Riverland Workshop, along the banks of the Little Delaware River. River-tossed stones from the Devonian, often encrusted with bioforms, find support from branches from the surrounding woods - beech, elm, forsythia, even beaver-cut. Form meets function in these one-of-a-kind pieces. New works use common woods in unexpected ways - rough-cut barn boards, whole trees.
